GPO with that name already exists. Chose another name

Alright,

 

Creating a gpo entry on a server 2K3. went to create it under our student OU in Group Policy Management rather than the Workstations OU.

 

Quickly gave me self a slap across the head and removed the new gpo from student and tried to recreate it, but under Workstation OU.

 

Now it says the following warning message: "GPO with that name already exists. Chose another name"

 

I'm guessing the first entry I made is cached some where. How does one go about clearing it so I can create gpo in workstation.

ok I've found it under "Group Policy Objects" in Group Policy Management Console.

Not sure if this helps but OUs are protected from deletion. See Microsoft Corporation

I was basically going to set power states for all the workstations in the school via GPO, but it seems there is no option. The kids keep pressing the sleep and power button on the keyboard, which is causing problems when staff try to take control of the machine during lesson.
