Video compression software

Hi all!

 

I'm trying to find some video compression/conversion software that can compress the many .mov ipad movies we have stored to something a little more space saving like .mp4!

 

The bit I'm struggling to find in any the software titles I've tried so far is for it to automatically save the output file in the source folder!

 

I want to add a big list of videos files with different source locations, compress/convert and have the finished file saved back in the same folder as each source file

 

Anyone have any suggestions?

Handbrake is the obvious place to start. It can be scripted so you can dump the result anywhere you like

I went down the Tdarr route to auto scan/compress as we had hours of Drama and PE videos in raw uncompressed formats sitting around - I hear FileFlows is now available as a Tdarr alternative but I haven't used it. Now we are cloud based I don't need to do such things.
