Jawloms Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 Hi all, We have Genee touchscreen TVs and of course pens are "being stolen" (the teachers here don't lose things ) and I need replacements. Do people replace their TV pens with the official ones, or has someone found a cheap effective alternative? Thank you Stuart
Rob_D Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 Depends on the product. If they're "smart" (as in the board knows you're holding a pen and what colour etc.) then we'd probably replace like for like (but it's coming out of their budget, not ours). If it's just a dumb stylus then they'll get something from our bag of old Smartboard pens. Failing that, any old stylus will do the job. According to their site, Genee use IR basted touch (like most large screen panels), so you could use pretty much anything as long as it's not going to damage the screen, I've used pencil rubbers and the blunt end of a marker pen on our Smart E70 screens. Maybe make your own with old dry erase pens and some felt or similar (not scratchy) material. And if they keep going missing then the teacher has fingers, right? 1
HTCPCP Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 I've given out those free stylus touch screen tablet pens before now. Had loads of them as they came with a huge number of ipad cases, and because how they look, they tend not to go walkabouts either. Especially if you engrave the room number into the side of it. 2
Jawloms Posted May 28, 2020 Author Posted May 28, 2020 Is there any reason these wouldn't work on my Genee TVs? After all, it's just a pen with a soft tip which would block the light so the TV "sees" it right? https://www.amazon.co.uk/NIF-Telecoms-SMARTBOARD-INTERACTIVE-WHITEBOARD/dp/B01DDQWNIY/ Stuart
