chris11256 Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 Morning All, Has anyone got any experince of Stone's Equinox? I've had a quote for a 24 or 32TB 2 node setup as part of a server/storage refresh this summer. I'm leaning towards the Equinox overall so it'd be handy to know of real world experiences with it. Thanks, Chris
thomsoi01 Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 Chris, We went to Stone's Equinox last summer! We looked at various options and Stone's solution came out on top. Had no issues with it, all maintenance can be carried out with out the end user even knowing. Love it, would recommend to anyone. Ian 1
chris11256 Posted May 9, 2019 Author Posted May 9, 2019 (edited) Many thanks for the feedback. We're after the two node setup, three is overkill for us. Unless Management decice to go over my head, We're likely to get the Equinox. On paper it offeres the best performance and is cheaper than the traditional quotes I've had. chris11256 Posted September 24, 2019 Author Posted September 24, 2019 Did you go ahead with the Equinox? I didn't in the end. It was comparable on the cost front, it was just that Stone's leadtime didn't work for us. The wheels of management turn very slowly here, and Stone were quoting a lead time of 8-10 weeks from order. Ended up going with HPE and getting a pair of DL360 G10's with a MSA 2050 san.

Ah fair enough. We have gone with the Equinox and with the time scale being slow it will be here on Friday. (Ordered start of summer) there were some other delays that didn't help but got there in the end.
