Local network links in outlook 365

As the title show, does anyone know how to achieve this

 

I am trying to convert all the staff away from outlook and to use outlook online.

The staff here like to share local network links, and I am yet to find out how to do it.

 

Has anyone managed this or found an add-in that works?

Just simple things like word/excel docs

 

ie

n:\networkpath\document.docx

 

I have tried all sorts.

 

Interesting when someone links in outlook, those links will not open in outlook online either, even though the link is shown as a file:// hyperlink

I would have thought it would be best to convert to using OneDrive for content like that?
