Has anyone had any issues with SMTP through office 365 not working anymore?

I use it for my backup software to send me emails, and for a network copier to send scans. They each have an account setup, and authenticate using this over a secure connection. All was working fine last Friday, then both stopped emailing.

Thanks, useful to know it's probably something here then, just need to work out what is affecting 2 different systems and accounts!

Its working here, just sent a scan from the photocopier.

If its affecting 2 separate mailboxes then its unlikely to be a password change or the configurations.

Are the mailboxes still licensed?

If the account is a Cloud based one, it's not gotten to the 180 day password age and failing to authenticate until you change it.

You can turn this option off via powershell for specific accounts (AD Sync ones are not affected)

I've tried logging in to one of the accounts and it goes in fine, no prompt for password. I've just realised that we had no emails from Netsupport DNA all day either, so that's another system. I'm guessing it must be a smoothwall / firewall issue now, although I'm not aware of any changes.

It's funny everyone should mention this as I've been having trouble with SMTP on 587 and anonymous on 25 mail.protection.outlook.com

It used to work with TLS ON (MS recommendation) then it started working without, now it doesn't work at all!

This is affecting our helpdesk, papercut, Unifi - The usual suspects; papercut in fact won't send any notifications on server 2019

I've opened a ticket with Office 365 but they are clutching at straws (not really their area)

Turns out ours was a problem with our ISP and was affecting everyone in the LEA who used them. Not sure what it was but they have fixed it now. Thanks for all the help.
