I have recently changed my Internet reporting server. The IP of the server has stayed the same but the port has changed. I thought by just changing the port in group policy would push it out to the clients. But since we have changed the server the clients are picking up a totally different proxy server, the one that we use to use for the lcoal authoruty it does not reflect what is in group policy.

I thought it may be down to the Mandatory profile we have. I removed the profile path out of a users account and logged on so it picked up the correct policies and configurations from the group policy, but low and behold it still came up with the local authority proxy and port not the one i have specified in the group policy.

Hope someone can help.

What version of IE are you using? Could it be using IE6 on the server and IE7 on the clients? (or some similar setup)

You may need to update the adm file on the server for it to be picked up in IE7.

The IE7 ADM files do not contain anything to do with proxy settings. Proxy settings are configured in the same place irrelevant of the version of IE.

I would check the default domain policy and check each OU in turn to verify proxy settings are correct.

@Michael - my bad. I had a problem the other week when clients wouldn't pickup any updated IE settings. I had to reload the adm template in order for the settings to reapply.
