Hi all,

I have been asked to look at some lego Midstorms - NXT version. The message I have got is as follows

 

Hi Mike,

 

They are an old model of the Lego Mindstorms control bricks. NXT version. Using newer software for Mindstorms led to it needed a firmware upgrade. This rendered the brick as a brick. Basically this: Clicking brick syndrome – LEGO Engineering

 

I will not see the actual things until tomorrow - I was just wondering whether anyone on here has seen this and knows where to go from here.

All the computers are currently on Windows 7 but will be moving to Windows 10 soon (ish).

If I need to move them to something else then I could sort that out

The process to re-flash them with the original firmware is included in that post, but in regards to using it on Windows 10 we never found any problems with it (while it was still used) as long as it was installed originally using compat mode might be worth a try

there is also if i remember rightly an appx version of the software if you have some way of distributing it (or an ipad/android version if that helps)
