Koldov Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 (edited) It has come to my attention after taking a computer out of the Domain to do some work in a teachers break-time and it deciding to download and install a very old (2018-05 Cumulative update) for Windows 10, that somehow I seem to be missing these on my WSUS. Currently I only have 'Critical Updates', 'Definition Updates' and 'Security Updates' ticked and I'm guessing the 'Cumulative Updates' don't come under any of these sections. What else should I have ticked (Service Packs, Update Rollups, Updates)? I don't want to tick the wrong thing and kill the server and network in one... How do I set the classification to approve the latest one (would be better if I can I stop it downloading all the previous ones)? EDIT: Now it is also installing a Malicious Software removal Tool (KB890830), Servicing Stack (KB4485447), Silverlight (KB4481252)... none of which show as being needed on WSUS!!! DaveTheTech Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 I beleive that it will download all of the updates that you have ticked under classifications. FYI we have critical, definition, security updates as well as service packs and update rollups ticked.
Koldov Posted April 4, 2019 Author Posted April 4, 2019 Yeah didn't think I'd be lucky enough to get away with just being able to download the latest... But if I hold approval and just allow the latest one, that should include every update from the previous ones...? There must be a way to define them - Service Packs = Win 7 and Update Rollups (Cumulative?) = Win 10....?
