ollyyllo Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 (edited) In the Office 365 OWA there is a little toggle that lets users enable "The new Outlook" So, after enabling it, when I create a new email, attach a file and browse from cloud locations There is now a box to search your OneDrive folders, Which is great but... I cant get it to work, whatever I type in it just stays in the list view, nothing happens Tried on different browsers, accounts and computers. It just doesn't seem to do anything Thought it might be a problem with indexing but search works fine everywhere else. First question, does anyone else have the same problem? Any ideas why I cant get it to work, I'm at a loss? Thanks Edited March 19, 2019 by ollyyllo
6Foot2 Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 (edited) It works here: Attached items: One small, one large both from cloud storage. So not an Office services issue? Do you have free space remaining on your cloud storage allocation? Edited March 19, 2019 by 6Foot2 1

ollyyllo Posted March 19, 2019 Author Posted March 19, 2019 Can I clarify @DaveP I can attach anything I want, Its just the search that doesn't work. Is your search is working when you try and attach?

Is your search is working when you try and attach? Ah, I get it now. Search (*.mp3, *.doc, *.xls,...) does nothing. When I attached the items in my examples I browsed to them. Sorry. Marci Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 (edited) It's chucking a Javascript error in their implementation of a React handler as soon as you hit enter after inputting a search term... "Error: Filepicker: Start search should not be called with a provider that does not support search" Essentially, broken at MS' end. Nothing you can do. See https://outlook.uservoice.com/forums/907141-the-new-outlook-on-the-web-office-365/suggestions/36769951-search-doesn-t-work-in-new-outlook Edited March 19, 2019 by Marci 1
ollyyllo Posted March 19, 2019 Author Posted March 19, 2019 Thanks Marci, this is good to know, I found some threads of people complaining about how useless the search was but not necessarily saying it was outright broken.
