CSmith12 Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Hi all, Hopefully posting in the right place, and not repeating previous posts (I have had a browse, but, may have missed it - apologies if so!). Trying to create a tracker for a BTEC subject - simply put, I want to input a grade, and if the grade is between a certain set of numbers (0-8, for example), I want Excel to either change the number to a piece of text (in this example, 'U'), or, input the 0-8 number, then in the next cell, it equals U. If that makes sense? I have tried many googles but not sure I'm asking the right thing as I'm not getting any usable answers so hoping you guys can help! Thanks! In hope, C.
clareq Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 If the grade is input into A1 then =IF((AND(A1>=1,A1<=8)),"U") will put U into whichever cell you put it. 1

Seb1780 Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Thank you! Next one... Can I put more than one grade in there? So 0-8 = U and 9-15 = Pass? This is a job for a lookup table - define your table with grade boundaries (0=U, 9=E, 16=D etc) then use vlookup(cell with value, grade table range,2,true) 1
CSmith12 Posted March 11, 2019 Author Posted March 11, 2019 Brilliant - thank you for your help and speedy response!
