Cisco ASA 5500 Licence (End of Life/Sale)- HELP!

Hi All,

 

We have an ASA 5525 CX Firewall which has been running for only 4 years.

The licences that were installed have now run out and I'm trying to renew but can't because it's end of life.

 

Licence code: ASA5525-AW1Y-PR

 

This device cost over 10k and only lasted 4 years. Is this right? Our school only has 220 students.

 

Any advice would help.

But 10k for a firewall in a school is a massive overspend in my opinion.

Our network was initially setup by a company that seemed to only have interest in their bottom line...and not our success as a school. :-(

That's the exact position we're in at another UTC. Overly complex build, lots of money put into it then left alone to whither, everything is Cisco (quality stuff indeed) but no ongoing service contracts and I'm no Cisco expert so I can't manage half of it.

We're ditching our ASA 5525 for Sophos XG UTM, much better suited for our needs.
