abillybob Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 Hi All So we have a "deploy" server here and one of it's tasks is to be a print server. All client computers are added via the share path to each printer and I am using the latest version of HP's Universal Printer Driver. I have tried changing the driver to older versions but still has similar issues. A problem I'm getting is that intermittently on some printers they will stop printing, the job will be stuck in queue and if you click on the printer it says Status: Requires Attention but as far as I can see it doesn't require attention. Nothing's on the printer screen, nothing should be stopping it from printing. If I clear the Queue and then restart the print spooler on the server it will work again for a day and then it will happen again. Any ideas?
steveg Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 I had a problem with an HP printer in our office, that would sometimes show that when it ran out of paper, but adding more paper wouldn't fix the issue, it would need the spooler restarting. If staff remembered to fill it up before it ran out it seemed to be ok. An upgraded driver seemed to fix the issue, although you mention you are on the latest ones already. Steve
Zourous Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 A shot in the dark, but make sure bidirectional support is unticked in the properties. Also turn off advanced features.
