Apple Profile Manager auto_join_ota_service is invalid

Hi;

This is my second post regarding Apples Profile Manager.

I have been battling to enrol several devices that although they say in setting that they are supervised they do not appear in Devices in Apple Profile Manager - maybe they were managed using Configurator before our school bought more iPads and an Apple Mac Mini, who knows I have inherited all of this :-)

Anyway, I have had some success and have managed to enrol - wipe and re-enrol a couple of iPads and deploy apps successfully however I have one that just will not accept the Enrollment Certificate. Everytime I try and install the Enrollment Certificate I receive the following error message:

http://macserver..../devicemanagement/api/device/auto_join_ota_service is invalid

My offsite IT team are telling me that they will need to enrol it using AC2, which up until about a minute ago I had no idea what they were talking about. After a quick Google AC2 is simply Apple Configurator which I have looked at before, I think I even installed it on my own Mac.

Anyway they have just outlined the process but have told me its too complicated to explain :-) I am sure it is but I can follow a guide!! I wondered if anyone here can help?

Many thanks

Simple answer is....use something else other than Profile Manager for management of iPads, it will give you a world of hurt every time.

Use a proper MDM solution
