Hi All,

Currently changing a lot of our computers from Macs to PCs. Everything was working well until I found that the "£" symbol doesn't exist. On a machine that is freshly built all works well so I know it's a policy issue.

Turns out that my predecessor had to set a policy to allow the Mac En-UK keyboards to work properly in Windows (the "normal" keymap for Mac UK keyboards is different to that for standard UK PC keyboards). Everything works fine on the Mac side. AS we're retaining some Macs with Windows we can't just reverse the changes as that will break the mac setup.

In the policy (which is applied to All Devices) all the changes are made in the GP preferences via registry changes. They all apply to HKU/.Default. All the new PCs are in an OU group "Keyboard Settings" I've added some registry updates to the preferences that target members of this group.

When I logon as a standard user I can see that the .Default setup has taken on my changes so it seems to be working. However - the changes are not being applied to any users that logon to the machine. HKCU is keeping the old Mac related policy settings.

I have little experience with this so I have no idea how to transfer the .Default settings to apply to all users who logon to the machines.

I hope this will be straightforward!! Can post examples of the changes I have made if required.
