smarties11 Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 Hi All, So, a few weeks ago I contacted our phone supplier to ask whether this phone was compatible with Windows 10 - ahead of us updating our receptionist's computer from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I was told yes, and on checking the versions of the software and driver for the phone, was told that these are the latest ones and they are Windows 10 compatible. I think you know where this is going.... So yesterday her computer was given a fresh Win10 Education x64 1809 deployment from SCCM. When it came to installing the telephone driver, it failed, saying it wasn't compatible. I contacted the telephone company again, they again insisted that it was compatible, that they have other customers running it, and then this morning have stumped up a new driver (October 2018 I think). Installed it, and although the telephone devices and USB Serial Port device appear correctly in device manager, there is a yellow-bang against the devices and the error is code 52 (Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device). I've contacted Unify GMBH directly for support and they aren't interested. Our telephone company are next to useless. Has anyone successfully got this telephone working OK in Windows 10? Our receptionist has it connected to the OpenScape Attendant so she can control the phone from her computer. I guess I could look at bypassing the driver signing but isn't that a bit dodgy? Thanks!
smarties11 Posted February 12, 2019 Author Posted February 12, 2019 Further to my first post, I have temporarily disabled driver signing enforcement in Windows 10 and then the driver loads and the phone works perfectly. Obviously once you reboot [and driver signing is turned back on] the driver won't load again so this isn't a permanent solution. Anyone have any ideas or a link to a signed driver I can use?
pete Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 Was the original driver (that didn't work) signed? Does an 8.1 driver work?
smarties11 Posted February 12, 2019 Author Posted February 12, 2019 Hi Pete, I don't know as that driver refuses to install, saying it's incompatible. I only have two drivers - the original (which worked fine on Win7) and the new one. I can't find anywhere online to download them without paying.
MatthewL Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 Have you searched the hardware ID and found a driver online that way?
pete Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 I assume there's nothing helpful on the Unify portal?
smarties11 Posted February 13, 2019 Author Posted February 13, 2019 Have you searched the hardware ID and found a driver online that way? Yes, I have. Unfortunately it turns up nothing. Unify don't make the drivers available to the public, and the only site I can find some on you have to pay for.
smarties11 Posted February 13, 2019 Author Posted February 13, 2019 I assume there's nothing helpful on the Unify portal? As I understand it this site is only available to partners? I have contacted Unify GMBH directly - they logged a case but I just got a generic reply to say they don't support end users. So it looks as though we are in the hands of our telephone company :-(
smarties11 Posted February 13, 2019 Author Posted February 13, 2019 I've found a potential driver online via DriverMax - however it's one of these sites that tricks you into thinking you can download it directly from them but then just funnels you into downloading their driver scan utility. https://www.drivermax.com/driver-download/624090/323455381de09f81679af262ebc44c61/USB-CDC-Device-OpenStage-30-T-Unify-GmbH-Co_KG-Unify-GmbH-Co_KG-64-bits.exe I've downloaded the driver scan utility and it doesn't work behind a Proxy. Doh!

I'd send them an email to the people linked below asking for access on the basis that your telephone company (who I assume are a Unify reseller) are doing a pretty poor job of supporting their product. Make it clear you're not asking for Unify to support you as a customer but if a working driver exists on that portal you'd appreciate access to download it. https://unify.com/en/support/customer-support-portal
