Gongalong Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Hi folks, We have Cubase 6, which I'm fairly sure cannot be network deployed - I've had a ticket in with Steinberg for a week now, and no response so far. Cubase 10 seems to be the latest version. Does anyone know if this or earlier versions can be network deployed? Thanks
KarlGoddard Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Theoretically Cubase can be deployed via gpo etc - but in almost 10 years of having the misfortune of supporting cubase in schools I never once got a room successfully deployed. That's using Professional, Elements and Artist versions too. I even contemplated having a specific wim with the core install with vst's etc on it just for my music suites. Cubase simply doesn't like network environments in my experience. 1
Gongalong Posted February 7, 2019 Author Posted February 7, 2019 The problem with v6 is that it appears to be three separate installs to start with - the program, a synth thing, and the license tool. I also have a vague memory that it will only let me install it from CD, but I need to double check that. This is aside from the need to individually license each machine. Previously we used Ghost, and once a machine was imaged with Cubase we could just deploy it to multiple machines and the licensing didn't seem to care it was all done with the same serial number (we had paid for the number of copies in use).
