Nova T6 Cover

Hi,

Does anyone know how I can set a NCC to be priority cover?

 

We have some members of staff who are slightly light on their timetables and we hand them a 'cover lesson' or two. They will then be the first person used from the cover list, if needed.

 

Is there any way I can highlight this in Nova T6 so that the cover coordinator is able to see the difference between someone who's simply free, and someone who's the 'cover person' for that lesson, in SIMS?

Since sometime in the early 2000s there's been the "rarely cover" rule. So if you flipped it around and gave staff NCCs when they AREN'T free for cover you'd have your priority cover people showing up straight away.

I think the preferred way to do this would be within the Cover module in SIMS rather than the timetable itself.

You can use the Cover Rota functionality (Tools>Cover>Manage Rotas) to assign staff to be on the rota for specific lessons - they will then be prioritised for cover for those lessons.
