HAP 10.5 Only Displaying Text

Hello,

 

I Am trying to install 10.5. I initially installed 10.6, but it had the problem with the dots on the file manager, So I copied out the config file removed everything from the HAP folder, then extracted in 10.5 in to the hap folder. I am now just getting Text when I launch HAP instead of the graphics. Can anyone help?

Have you uncleared the Attribute: Read Only from the properties window on the HAP folder in your wwwroot folder?

 

Also check to see if the files in your HAP folder are BLOCKED. Right click on any file in your HAP folder, select properties and you may see UNBLOCK. If this is the case, run powershell with the following command:

 

dir {PathToYourHapFolder} -recurse | Unblock-file

 

In the web.config file, make sure you have taken out the text around line 225 with reference to the mineMap file extensions:

 

 

Make sure you are running in HTTPS.

 

Would be interesting to see if 10.5 works for you as none of the versions work for me for some reason!

Hi Tim,

Thanks for that. Tried that and still the same - Guess I am going to have to destroy the sever and try again from scratch. I managed to get 10.6 to work. However, in the files section all that was seen were dots across the screen and noting happening, so I removed all the files and placed in the files from 10.5 which is when I got this error.

hmm strange.. i've tried many varients of Server (2012 / 2016) and various releases of HAP and cannot get it to work.

 

Download 10.0 from here > https://github.com/techienickb/hap/files/1036104/HAP.Web.Core.v10.Full.zip, it's taken from this page under 10.5 even though the FULL 10.5 core files don't exist https://github.com/techienickb/hap/releases.

 

If you can get 10.0 working first, upgrade the files using 10.5 upgrade files https://github.com/techienickb/hap/files/1036105/HAP.Web.Core.v10.5.Upgrade.zip. Copy and replace the files from 10.5 upgrade, you shouldn't need to touch the web.config file.

 

Remember to unclear the Attribute: Read Only from the properties window on the HAP folder in your wwwroot folder each time.

 

Moving from 10.6 to 10.5 causes many issues.

 

I too get what you are seeing on 10.6 but on 10.5 i get absolutely nothing!

OK - so I removed and put the 10.5 update in its place then did the read only. Now getting this come up. its strange because I took the IIS part of the config out when I first installed 10.6 The part of the config that HAP has a problem with is not in my config.

Really strange because my hapconfig is only 56 lines.

are you mistaking it with hapconfig.xml, have a look at the web.config located in wwwroot\HAP.

Rock and Roll - We have a log on screen! Thanks Sorry my bad - wrong config. OK its now on 10.5 - lets see.

OK - 10.5 so far so good. In the " my files " section, it does not freeze works as it should. I have HAP version 9 running on a live server and the plan was to migrate to 10 by creating a new server etc. So far all seems to good.

So you have all the files and folders that you need in the MyFiles area running 10.5?

 

As a Domain admin, do you see the Management tab too when you login to HAP? Are you able to get to the config when in HAP?

Yes - seems to be working fine. Management tab working, have set up Home Folders and S drive all good - The HAP config is all ticked. Server 2012 R2 IIS 8.5

Just out of interest, what verison of NetFrameWork are you running on your server?

Cheers, i've found where our issue is.

 

It's not looking at the AD groups but god only knows how to sort this out!?
