Moodle import Theme from 1.9 to 3.6

Hi,

 

As above.

 

Is there a simple way of importing a theme from 1.9 to 3.6?

 

I'm guessing there going to be some config work that needs doing to make it work. But i cant get it to show up in the theme selector.

We did it - it’s not hard but there are guides online showing what needs to be done and created. You don’t import it as such, but modify the back end files slightly.

It's many years ago (we did it from 1.9 to 2.x (then 3.x was easier), and the online resources have gone it seems! Your best bet now is to open the old and a similar new theme side by side, and start transposing some of your custom CSS and HTML/PHP. I think the gulf in age of the installs will make conversion extremely tricky otherwise. We eventually re-themed ours with a new simple bootstrap theme with our headers and footers.

The only thing. In the config of the theme as the settings for access. (if member of xxx show xxx and etc....)
