TwistedHelixis Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 Hi, One of my schools is federating with another school and they would like to create a few shared team drives between the schools. Both schools have G Suite but we have disabled the option to share outside the domain for team drive areas at my school. Is it possible to keep the no sharing with outside domains enabled but still share with an outside domain. I know that sounds a bit odd but thought I had better check first :0)
rogerdnixon Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 Yes you can. In Drive settings there is an option to add trusted domains and allow sharing to them. Just enable this on both domains. 1
jthompson Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 You may also be able to enable external sharing just for some key users (either an organisation of a group, iirc) and grant them ownership of the stuff to be shared. They'll then be able to share it externally without other users necessarily having that ability. I haven't tried that with a Team Drive, so I don't know for sure if that would work. However. having the schools add each other as trusted domains sounds like simple and sensible approach, given the relationship between them. 1
