Bill8 Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Hivemind I need your help! Whenever our timetabler makes a change in NOVA T6 it resets any amendments I've made in SIMS. e.g. I've rotated our PSHE classes between the 3 teachers who teach it but our timetabler has changed a completely different teachers timetable in NOVA T6 and now my amendment to the PHSE classes has vanished, so the 3 teachers now have their original groups. What are we doing wrong? Is there a box we need to tick or a setting we need to check to stop this from happening?
howartp Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 I don't do T6/timetable myself, but i'm sure any changes my timetabler does have to be done in T6 for this reason. If you aren't using T6 then you can change in SIMS, but if you're using T6 then that needs to be the correct 'base' data. (Not to be confused with exams basedata) 1
Ecclesbury Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Unfortunately there isn't a simple way of doing this as it requires your timetabler to change the way that they maintain the timetable and can be very fiddly (but also very useful if done well) The short answer is to start using Maintenance Datasets (rather than Construction Datasets) which use something called Temporal Locks to protect future changes to the the timetable (such as your staff rotation). Best place to start with this is the 'Analysis and Other Functions in Nova' handbook in the SIMS documentation area. Chapter 7 is a good starting point. Another word of caution - if you use multi timetable you way find that even this method won't work. We have multi timetable where i am and although Capita insist that it should work we could never get the timetables to upload even with Capita's help. 1
