Replacing IBM SystemX vSphere Hosts

Our three hosts are due for replacement this summer.

 

We've been with IBM System X for about 12 years now, last refreshed in 2011.

 

The automatic replacement would be the IBM x3850 M6, but I'm wondering whether there are other known-brand alternatives I should consider?

 

All our server room is IBM, but our backup system is HP Gen8 380e (ish?) and we have a Dell VRTX which has multi-use as an emergency DR environment but primarily ICT programming environment.

 

The FC SAN is IBM and not budgeted for replacement until next year.

 

Specs are currently 12-core CPU, 100GB RAM.

 

Thoughts?
