Help with identifying this

It's a clocking in system. Was fitted more than 8 years ago (ie before I started) and has never been used.

Looks like a BioStore IDPoint. We have similar ones except it's a fingerprint scanner instead of an ID Card scanner. Whether or not these are just a generic thing, I don't know.

It's attached to the wall. Nothing visible, didn't want to try and remove it without knowing more about it first.

It looks exactly like ours except it's the card reading model (which Biostore do provide as a solution).

 

If they're the same then it will be attached to a mounting plate. You should be able to remove it without much hassle. If it's not in use, I'd say just take it off. Serial numbers etc should be on the reverse.
