snagrat Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Soon to be taking on a new school after the existing Network Manager leaves shortly. We need to ensure Handover documents are provided. I’m sure it’ll all happen smoothly but wondered if anyone had a template which can be supplied to the outgoing manager to ensure everything is handed over. TIA
HPlum78 Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 The documentation should exist in the service portfolio, if you follow follow ITIL and everyone should follow some kind of framework these days for service delivery. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Service_Portfolio_(ITIL)
p858snake Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Start going though your notepad/job list/emails etc and start building a list based on prior work to see what you want info on, Also if you have a search on here I believe theres a few other threads on handover documentation as well
Sonic007 Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 (edited) I would expect it to cover all of the below: - Network Structure and details of where hardware is located. (I think we've all been there where we are hunting round a huge site for a hidden switch) - Licensing details and renewal dates - Updated list of software and hardware / Asset information. - ICT Budget / Financial Information and Suppliers. - Find out what is backed up, where its backed up, by who, and how often. - Passwords, Registration documents, AppleID's, etc. (Make sure admin privileges have been transferred over). - Keys to server rooms, etc. Edited January 15, 2019 by Sonic007
