Infrastructure & Systems Manager – SW London * URGENT *

circa £45,000 plus excellent benefits (including 30 days holiday and Bank Hols.)

Our client, a prestigious independent school group in London are looking for an experienced Infrastructure & Systems Manager to manage and provide senior support to the core applications, servers and systems.

 

As the Infrastructure & Systems Manager you will have specific responsibility for managing Virtual environments with Windows servers including Office 365, server hardware, existing SAN development and architecture, Windows Active Directory, ADFS and Azure Cloud technology.

 

You will also have responsibility for managing existing Databases between various systems including CRM, SRS and VLE platform, including other relational DB that interact with AD and Azure.

 

Other responsibilities of the role will include:

 

· To be active in the planning and development of Applications, Servers & Systems and work in collaboration with Group Schools and other departments

· The administration of Windows Server through scripted as well as conventional methods, including PowerShell and VBScript for user accounts and access privileges.

· To support, develop and maintain relational databases, running under Windows server architecture.

· To configure and support Account Management interfaces with Cloud Computing Service Providers.

· To manage Microsoft Exchange & Office 365, ensuring performance and monitoring resources.

· To participate in the evaluation, development, implementation and support of new software on a variety of systems, databases and software.

· When needed to perform any system maintenance, security and integrity by overseeing backup procedures and network access controls, installing operating systems, upgrades and patches.

· To visit other Schools within the group at least twice a term and liaise with the technicians to ensure new systems training and awareness is made.

 

To be considered for this role, you must have:

 

· A degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent technical IT discipline.

· A minimum of 6 years related experience, ideally within the education sector.

· Experience of implementing a major ITS services project, whether hardware or software led.

· Thorough knowledge of testing procedures and configuration management.

 

Desirable experience includes:

 

· Producing and implementing enterprise solutions.

· Virtual Technologies including VMware or Hyper-V.

· Demonstrated experience implementing and using any Database relational tools and reporting.

· Demonstrated experience administering Office 365.

· Knowledge of at least one level programming language (PowerShell, VBScript or batch scripting).

· Certification in any of the following - ITIL Foundation v3, CompTIA Security +, CompTIA A+, MCP- 70-290 Managing and Maintaining Win 2008 Servers or others MS/ MCP related.
