Unforeseen Consequences: A Half-Life Documentary

[Dos_Box]

Half Life had it's 20th birthday last month (that slipped me by!) and an indy film maker has crowd-funded this wonderful documentary about the making of the game and its influence.

Enjoy

The game that changed everything Just got my first PC back up and running and guess what's being reinstalled next...

Shame Valve forgot where they came from and won't give the series the finale it deserves.

It would be nice to get some closure, but as the people interviewed at the end of the documentary say, people don't game like that anymore and the way the game is done would have to be radically thought out. The fan made final chapter could be a very good game though if it ever reaches fruition.

When they talk about what Half Life was and how it might be affected by today's changes it makes me sad... deep storytelling and exploration replaced with pay-to-win microtransactions and mass PvP

The only games that have come close for me are the Deus Ex and Fallout series but those releases are few and far between. I'm hoping Metro Redux fills the gap as I missed that entirely first time around...

Also just found out there's an Opposing Force and Blue Shift remake out next year, plus hopefully the Black Mesa Xen levels so Half-Life can rise again that way
