Printing Issues

Hi guys,

 

Having trouble printing from apps such as Edge, Photos on 1803.

 

Print server is 2016 with latest drivers installed and when we print from one of the above apps, I get two jobs appear in the Print queue. 1st is a RAW datatype which under status says 'Paused - Spooling' the 2nd is a XPS2GDI datatype which under status says 'Printing'.

 

Until I restart the spooler to clear from the queue, nobody can print, the print jobs just queue.

 

It becomes an issue when somebody prints at 4pm using the photos app or Edge and then the print spooler isnt restarted until I'm in the following morning.

 

I've tried the following but to no success:

 

· Latest Print Drivers

· Turned off 'advanced printing features'

· Turned on 'render print jobs on client computers'

· Turned off 'Enable bidirectional support'

 

Only difference being when I turn on 'Advanced printing features' instead of the status being 'Paused - Spooling', it's just 'Spooling'

 

Anybody else had the same issue? Appears to be a problem with the XPS2GDI datatype.

Did you manage to fix this? Having exactly the same issue under 1803.

Had a very similar problem with MFC and department management turned on.
