Steven-allsaints Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 Hello, Throughout our school we use lanschool classroom management and surface pros for every teacher, when teacher have been using it they have noticed that the view all screen shows the thumbnails as small even though the setting is for extra large, but when we change the compatibility for the high DPI it is unusable when showing the teacher screen to the class as it shows 1/4 of the screen in the top left, so that is no ideal if there is any information that can be provided then that would be great as I have been looking at the reg and there is nothing that I can see or that I can think to add. we are not looking for changing the scale in windows as staff like having the real-estate to do more tasks
LanSchoolUK_Adam Posted December 10, 2018 Posted December 10, 2018 We have had this problem reported by another customer; we believe it is due to the non-standard display resolution that these devices use. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3025083/windows-scaling-issues-for-high-dpi-devices https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/forum/surfpronew-surfdrivers/new-surface-pro-2017-application-scaling-issues-on/9cb78f91-810c-4a55-ab44-e37d9727e357 In that particular instance, it was resolved by manually updating the devices' integrated Intel Graphics driver. LanSchool is designed for 16:9 displays, capping at 1920x1080 and then scaling linearly after that, though other resolutions should still be possible, just letterboxed/pillarboxed. Which exact model of Surface Pro are you using?
Steven-allsaints Posted December 10, 2018 Author Posted December 10, 2018 we are using surface pro 4 devices, this is what the students are seeing when the teacher is sharing screen with the DPI compatibility enabled
LanSchoolUK_Adam Posted December 10, 2018 Posted December 10, 2018 The other customer (mentioned above) was also using Surface Pro 4 devices - can you try updating the 520/540 Graphics driver and see if that helps with scaling? https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=49498 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/88355/Intel-HD-Graphics-520 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/88355/Intel-HD-Graphics-540
DalekSec Posted December 10, 2018 Posted December 10, 2018 We use Surface Pro 4s also, we havent been able to push out console to our them due to the scaling issues.... Our surfaces are on latest firmware and drivers for 1803.
