wordy00 Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 (edited) Hi All, I'm having a bit of trouble with VPP device assignment licensing for our iPads. We had 30 iPads stolen 6 months ago and I've given up trying to trace them. I removed them from the device list as I needed the licenses for our replacements. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to have freed up the licenses and there doesn't seem to be another way of revoking them... This is for app licenses purchased through Apple School Manager. Anyone had this issue before and know how to fix it? Thanks Edited December 3, 2018 by wordy00
atcoates Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 To clarify is the Meraki licences or VPP licences that are the issue?
wordy00 Posted December 3, 2018 Author Posted December 3, 2018 To clarify this is for app licenses purchased through Apple School Manager. Sorry for the confusion, I've added this to my original post.
atcoates Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 There is suggested solution on this page. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/netbooks-pda-phones/167255-how-revoke-vpp-app-license.html
wordy00 Posted December 3, 2018 Author Posted December 3, 2018 Unfortunately those instructions aren't applicable to this case. We purchase apps through Apple School Manager and assign using Meraki MDM. As I deleted the devices the licenses are supposed to automatically revoke and be available for other devices.
Brimstone Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 If you are not using "Managed App" configurations in your MDM these licences will not come back to you by removing a device
