Nintendo relaxes rules about streamed content

Remember when Nintendo clamped down on YouTubers showing footage of Nintendo games in their vids and streams by nabbing their ad revenue?

Well, it seems they have now had a change of heart - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-46385047

I wonder if they had seen a fall in the percentage of Nintendo footage being streamed compared to other systems?

All that free publicity they clamped down on must have hurt them at least in some ways.

it seems very coincidental this is just before the launch of smash a game that will be streamed loads giving them a lot of publicity

Perhaps in 2014 they just didn't want people talking about what a flop the Wii U was?

Mind you, with the money grabbing measures they put in place, perhaps they thought it a was good way to offset their losses!
