Hello,

Palo Alto Networks has launched some new pricing for EDU on their TRAPS endpoint solution.

It looks like some pretty great discounts are available at the moment. We have quite a few clients using it that are really happy with it, and our engineers love it.

If anyone is looking at their endpoint protection at the moment, or in the near future, please let me know and I can arrange for some information to be sent over/demos etc.

Also, Palo will be joining us at BETT 2019, and we will be running demos of both their TRAPS and NGFW solutions.

It has a few key benefits:

  • Cloud Management for simplified deployment
  • Prevent Exploit Techniques from being run on the End-Point
  • No requirement for signature Database
  • Light install on End-point
  • Single End-Point Solution with multiple protection engines built in.
  • Online and Offline protection
  • Connected to market leading threat intelligence service
  • Protection from Unknown threats via multiple methods
  • Local Analysis via Machine Learning

  • Behavior-based Prevention – Malicious Process Prevention

  • Built in Ransomware Protection

  • Connection to Wildfire for dynamic analysis

We've been using TRAPS for about 3 years now and over that time I think its developed into a great product. In fact we probably won't renew our Sophos AV endpoint protection when that runs out and just use TRAPS.

As part of our evaluation we tested both Sophos and TRAPS against the 25 newest Windows virues available via VirusTotal. Sophos stopped 20/25 whereas TRAPS stopped 25/25. We use some niche software and TRAPS has occasionally produced a false positive but its quick and easy to resolve such issues.

Personally I'd recommend the product if the price is right.
