Script to change display scale for specific users?

Has anyone found a way to change the display scale (to say 125%) for certain users, on login with either a registry preference or a script? And possibly a logoff script to revert on logoff as well

 

I've found a couple of reg keys to change but they don't seem to have any effect, and I only need to do this for a couple of users who move around a lot, so a GPP would have been ideal as I can set it for just those users.

Ahh yes but I'm trying to automate it a bit! - so it fixes directly onto a certain scale, plus it doesn't scale everything like text etc with the wheel.

OK. I have been working on the same. I have told my users to CTRL+mouse wheel until I find a better answer.

Thats what I'd seen and tried but I couldn't get it to change the scaling - it just seemed to ignore it. I'll have another try!

Have you set the: Win8DpiScaling to value of 1? without this setting it will not force the the change - I set the "LogPixels" via registry item and set the "Win8DpiScaling" via registry wizard values Edited November 6, 2018 by abaxter2

I thought I had, but I'm going to set it up and again and double check its being applied

Does this work OK for you? I've set this up and it doesn't seem to apply to the display settings even though I can see the registry entries being changed by the GPP (i.e Win8DPIScaling=1 and LogPixels=120)

There use to be an .exe called SetRes where you could set the resolution - no idea if it works with Windows 10 tho.

Ahh now oddly its started working - but it doesn't apply when you rdp into a PC, so that was causing some confusion as well

Yeah works every time for me here - but I have never tried via RDP
