[ms office - 2016] Office 2016 Professional Plus not printing png in Word

I am unable to print a .png image on a word document. This is a PC based problem rather that an individual user problem. I am able to print .png's on another computer of the same make and model number with the same version of Office 2016. This PC has all of the recent updates applied. I have uninstalled Office and re-installed. I have check that all of the options within word are the same as a PC that does print.

I have contacted Microsoft but after speaking to 5 different representatives and being cut off several times I've given up as they kept putting me through to the wrong department.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is driving me mad.

The print driver comes directly from the print server so therefore is the same on all pc's throughout the school. Yes it prints to .pdf and also .ppt etc.

I can print .png's if I save the document as a .doc but not a docx. Any ideas?
