tmoon-mint Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Hi all, So I have some second gen iPad Minis that I have recently updated to iOS 12.0.1 I am now getting complaints that the storage is full on them and originally I was blaming the fact that they are only 16GB devices. However if I check in the settings app there is roughly 4GB of storage taken up on the device and is labelled as "other". Any idea what this could be? I can restore the device if necessary but I just want to see if there is a quick fix first. Thanks, Tom
TechGod Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 How did you update them? Try updating by Plugging device into a computer with iTunes. Maybe wrong but don't think your going to have much storage after updating to 12 with 16GB.
tmoon-mint Posted October 10, 2018 Author Posted October 10, 2018 They were updated OTA via the settings app. Perhaps there are still files left over from the update process on the device. I have checked recently deleted in the photos app as this has confused some users before who were deleting pictures and videos and not recovering any storage space. Will probably just look at restoring one and see if there is any difference in used space.
atcoates Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 From memory if you delete photos from an ipad they go into a recently deleted folder and then gradually delete after 30 days.
Brimstone Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 "Other" are cookies, web history and caches so head to Safari in Settings and clear both of them. 1
