karldenton Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 Hi We have a Sharp copier on site, linked to papercut. It comes up with the papercut screen to swipe in. We use the following URL's Address for Application UI: http://172.19.*.*:9191/device/sharp_osa3/ui/ Address for Web Service: http://172.19.*.*:9191/device/sharp_osa3/soap?name=SHARP+MX-3560 This all works fine All our sites are linked, but have different IP ranges. All machines are domain joined and we can access files / ping across sites no problem. We have another Sharp copier I'm trying to setup the UI on. I've used the same URL's as the printer is on the same server. On setup, the device appears in the devices page on papercut so that bit it working. However, it comes up on screen that it can't contact the accounting server. DNS is set on the device etc. Any ideas please? Thanks
MatthewL Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 The bottom one URL is unique to the device. Spaces need to become + as well. The bold bit is unique. PaperCut MF Application UI: http://:9191/device/sharp_osa3/ui/ PaperCut MF Web Service: http://:9191/device/sharp_osa3/soap?name=Level1+Copier
karldenton Posted September 28, 2018 Author Posted September 28, 2018 Sorry I forgot to add that I'd made the name unique, and that manages to connect to papercut OK as the device is created. I can also ping the papercut server from the copier. Thanks
MatthewL Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 Can your print server ping the IP of the printer, can you access the web page? When you go into devices in PaperCut is it listed there?
karldenton Posted September 28, 2018 Author Posted September 28, 2018 Hi Matthew. Yeah I can ping the IP from the server and access the web page When I submit the URL on the copier, the device then appears in paper cut. Just doesn’t show the papercut screen on the copier and comes up with the error.
MatthewL Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 Under the URL setting there is a VGA setting and if I remember off the top of my head a .net 2.5 and 3, change it to the opposite that it is on now.
karldenton Posted October 1, 2018 Author Posted October 1, 2018 Thanks. On the MX-2614n there isn't the VGA setting. There is on our MX-3560
MatthewL Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 Yeah its the newer ones that have this. Is it working ok now?
karldenton Posted October 2, 2018 Author Posted October 2, 2018 Unfortunately not. It doesn't have the VGA setting, so really not sure what else to change.
MatthewL Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Which machine can you not get it to work on? Has it worked before?
karldenton Posted October 2, 2018 Author Posted October 2, 2018 It’s the 2614 I can’t get it to work on. The device connects to papercut and is listed in the device section. I can ping the papercut server from the device. I can connect to the device web page from any computer on the network. However it says on the device screen, can’t connect to accounting server and it doesn’t show the papercut log in page.
MatthewL Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Have you copied the links from above, giving it a new name, or even the device a new IP address? Not got a firewall rule only allowing connections from certain places? How many other devices have you got connected? - - - Updated - - - You are setting it under external account settings as by default these machines do not have the AMX3 with them that is needed to allow it to work straight out the box.
karldenton Posted October 3, 2018 Author Posted October 3, 2018 Hi This is the 2nd device on papercut - we have licenses for 3 I've attached the settings in external account control No firewalls rules. The external site is connected via a Sophos RED, all traffic connects between the sites no problem.
MatthewL Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 You don't have a space at the end of the URL's do you? Is the device listed in PaperCut and showing the IP of the MFD? Have you tried disabling the windows firewall if its on, on the server and seeing if it connects. Do other functions like scan to email or file server work ok on the machine? Might be worth setting the machine to DHCP and seeing it connects also.
