I have just installed 3CX on a VM and don't yet have any phones or SIP channels purchased. I wanted to test it with soft phones on the PCs. I have the client installed on my machine but I need a welcome message from the 3CX server to start the configuration. On the Extension page when I click "send welcome email" nothing happens. When I go into Settings>Email and click the test button I get "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it"

Any ideas please?

I would say a Firewall (windows or otherwise) is not letting in your SMTP port on your eMail server (port 25 or whatever you have set). Disable Firewall, If allowed and try again or allow port from that IP as may be set to only allow from certain external IP etc etc

OK, just read that if SMTP on same machine i.e.internal to 3CX app and not going to 3CX themselves, change server to 127.0.0.1 - if external then I would assume same as conversation and something up with their server or your IP blacklisted (highly unlikely !!)

I reverted back to Version 15 which allows for custom SMTP server

I just downloaded from their site so how can I go to V15? Is it available to download?

No it wasn't but it maybe is where I got the information from. I seem to remember a lot of stuff and hey presto it pops out when I need it. I'm a bit weird like that!
