HP2600n windows 98 drivers

I installed a 2600n with w98 workstations a while back. I know I struggled and I can't remember what I did to get it to work. We just got another one for different room and i cannot get it to work and I can't find any drivers that will work. The new installation disk comes up with a message saying it can't auto install on W98 which I'm sure the previous one didn't do. So I'm wondering if the older install disk has additional drivers. Unfortunately, I cannot find that disk.

 

Can anyone help please?

Tried just plugging the printer in and aiming it at the CD rather than running the nasty HP software?
