MrWu Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Hi all Do you find doing multiple patches in SIMS a pain? I understand through DBUpgrade and SOLUS 3 a auto backup is applied .. when doing mutliple patches its a pain since it backs up the database mutilple times when I have already done a full backup (my school has a large DB due to using inTouch) I've been told that its mandatory routine but it would be nice to have an option not to auto backup...
nicholab Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Yes it is a pain if you want to apply a patch and you need a certain database version. You might have the upgrade in the solus3 update schedule but the patch does schedule. 1
Esteban_Child_of_the_Sun Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 There is a tick box when deploying patches through SOLUS3 to delete the backup after a successful deployment. 1
MrWu Posted September 13, 2018 Author Posted September 13, 2018 There is a tick box when deploying patches through SOLUS3 to delete the backup after a successful deployment. Is there a way in Solus3 or DBupgrade to not do a backup before deployment ? Thinking about it though I think they do this so it can roll back if the patch goes wrong ... takes a long time when I have 5 patches to put through though ...
Esteban_Child_of_the_Sun Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 If you run DBupgrade from a command prompt you can add the /? parameter to it which will give you all the possible parameters, one of them is to not do a backup. 1
