Hi all,

Im looking at making a bit of money on the side to help fund a trip to South Africa next year with Explorer Scouts in my District.

This would be just funding me to make things clear.

Ive looked at setting up a just giving page etc and fundraising events but I doubt anyone would give me money that way so im looking at making money from other means.

I already do a bit of cash in hand IT Guy work but not enough.

Going to sell stuff on ebay.

So get them ideas in!

Thanks in advance :)

Sign on with an agency? I have done it in the past for extra money for the weekends.

Granted it was in Australia but I got paid £1,200 for a weekends work installing new computers and dumping the old ones in the offices of Zurich insurance. Funnily enough at the time I was working for a rival insurance company during the week!

I’d say extra work, not too much or you will be knackered and main work will suffer.

Another option is buying stuff from charity shops or car boot sales and selling on ebay.

Can't really do extra work as I'm busy most days.

eBay is probably the one I'll give a go first

Daughter raised funds for volunteering on a Water Project in Tanzania

- collected books, CDs and games to sell back to sites like Ziffit, Zapper, MagicMagpie, Momox and WeBuyBooks. She had a spreadsheet going, comparing the site price offers, so she got the best price for each item!

- car washing and vaccuuming for friends, family and neighbours

- Boot fair with donated items

- cake sale

- eBay with donated items

Just downloaded a few selling sites and the difference between the prices is weird.

Scanned some software we found from 1997! between the four apps the cheapest was 16p and most expensive was £1. With others in between.

Daughter found a range of a couple of pounds in some things!

She just got the prices for everything from all the sites, recorded them on a spreadsheet, and then optimised what went to who so she got the best possible prices.
