[android] Replacement handset for a HTC 10...

I am about to "upgrade" my phone from a 2year old HTC 10.

 

The HTC U11 sounds like a good replacement but I am not sure if the "life" versions screen is any good for RDP work...

 

What are others comments?

 

Need to stick with Android, ideally HTC as I am used to their software.. Apple and Windows phone a def NO!

I used to work in a phone shop from the time Android first really entered the market with a HTC Magic (what a phone it was!!), from then I used to upgrade every year but recently (past 3 years) I've stuck with a Samsung S6 as I use any power demanding apps and the camera isn't awful.

 

From my experience, if your current phone is working well for the RDP then go to the shops and have a play until you find a suitable replacement, most networks have a return policy if it isn't any good just return it and go back to the old one.

 

Sorry I couldn't give any more info on the new HTC device, on GSM it says the screen is the same resolution (31 less ppi density) but it does have an Octocore processor so my guess is the improvement with the RDP app would be that it runs faster.

For RDP work would you find a smartphone with a larger screen and/or screen-to-body ratio useful? e.g. U11+, U12+

 

Also, if you multitask a lot I would look at phones with at least 6GB RAM to keep more apps in memory.

Thanks @Arthur & @lewisVeryPC trying to keep the costs down... I can get a U11 life "for free" but a U11 or U11+ is going to cost I suspect.

 

I think I am going to have to find somewhere that has them in stock and have a play as you suggest.

 

The U11 life has a lower screen res than the standard U11.
