Hi all,

I want to move SIMS, FMS and SOLUS3 off my aging 2008 server in to a new one. I've found documentation from Capita's website, but as usual it's rubbish. The one about migrating SOLUS 3 helpfully says;

You are now ready to start switching to the new server.

On the new server:

8. Restore the database to the new server.

9. Install the SOLUS3 database on the new server.

Fabulous. How do I actually install SOLUS 3 on the new server?? I've got the downloads page (https://myaccount.capita-cs.co.uk/Notifications/SIMS-Release-Download-Links/) which gives installable releases of SIMS .net and FMS, and only upgrades to SOLUS 3. Can anyone help me please?

Thank you

Stuart

You linked the installers in your post? :o Solus updates itself once installed so those shouldn't be the upgrades but the different versions depending when it's being installed etc.

Unless they've changed how they did it but pretty sure if you try those it'll be the installer

I've linked (what I assume due to their titles) are the installers for SIMS and FMS, and the upgrades for SOLUS. There isn't a SOLUS3 under a heading titled "Installable release".

What has Capita told you need to do to migrate your server?

Each time we migrate SIMS at one of our Schools/Academies that we support we contact Capita telling them what the school currently has and what we'd like to move it to. They then email the relevant guides and if we get stuck (or more often than not, what the guides says happens doesn't happen or exist) then we give them a call and they either talk us through what we need to do or remote on to the server and fix it for us and then hand the server back to us when we can then continue with the next step of the guides they sent us.
