eddyc Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 Hi all, We have around 200 HP8300s on site here. We have been trying to update the BIOS on all of them. Around 25 machines run through the process and pretend to do the update, then they reboot and are still on the old version. Any pointers or suggestions would be appreciated. I have tried restoring the BIOS to factory defaults but still the same. eddyc
AlanD Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 ...eget some blank BIOS chips of ebay and a USB programmer?
TwistedHelixis Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Do they have bitlocker as I read MS have been changing the way BIOS upgrade works if you have bitlocker - probably not your issue but you never know.
difinity Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Were they all on the same old BIOS before updating ? Some systems won't accept the latest update and need an intermediate one applying first.

This is exactly what the issue was. I came in this morning with fresh eyes and discovered in the release notes that the latest upgrade can only be applied if you're already on v2.99 first. Not sure how I missed that one, been going around in loops with it for two days! Thanks all eddyc
