Certficate expired help !

Help - Domain Wireless clients cannot connect to either of my wireless networks due to a certificate problem.

 

So my setup is Ruckus 3600 Controller, DC's are still 2008R2 running NPS and Certicate Authority (yes yes I know time to upgrade : )

 

So yesterday the CA certificate expired which is in use to authenticate clients on the domain wireless networks. So I thought no problem I will renew the CA certificate which I did, removed the old certificate, updated GP entry under Trusted Root Certification Authorities and removed old certificate and add the new one. So far so good, the new certificate gets deployed to the client no problem. I also changed NPS settings so the Microsoft Protected EAP (PEAP) had the new certificate also.

 

If I logon to the machine with a domain admin I can then manually click on the wifi network i want and it displays the message below. Once you click connect it then goes onto to connect.

 

The connection attempt could not be completed

The Credentials provided by the server could not be validated. We recommend that you terminate the connection and contact your administrator with the information provided in the details. You may still connect but doing so exposes you to security risk by a possible rogue server.

 

I have also notice my DC is getting a fatal alert was received 48 which appears to be related.

 

Can anyone shed some light on how i might go about resolving this one?

Plug it in wired and run a gpupate and reboot

I'd missed out adding the certificate in the actual GPO for wireless client
