Jawloms Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 One of my office people wants to run an attendance report on the current year 11 students. Our students are considered on Study Leave from May half term until June 29th (this year) so get the appropriate attendance mark. They then are just ignored and given no attendance data at all until during August when they are given the leaving date of June 29th. This is so that we can still communicate with them apparently. This is skewing the figures as the report she is writing is one of her own, not an existing one which lets you choose start and end dates. The best it offers is an effective date, but this of course still takes the entire years data in to account. I hope I have described this clearly enough. How does she create a new report to pull attendance data out and only take into account the data up to June 29th? Stuart
Skelacia Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 Personally I would mark the Y11s with an X code from the first Monday after the leaving date until the end of term. This is a non statutory school age absence and functions like the # and Y codes in that the reports discount the sessions so SIMS can calculate accurately. It is good practise not to off roll all students at the official leaving date if you have a Sixth Form as the DfE don't expect a new admission date to be given to students moving from 11-12.
Jawloms Posted July 17, 2018 Author Posted July 17, 2018 Thanks @Skelacia. I'll look at that. We don't have a sixth form. Does anyone know what the standard/recommended practice is for when year 11s leave in the way of attendance marks and date of leaving? They certainly aren't coming back here!
bobsmith Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 X from last friday in June. It's even in the DfE official guidance. 1
Jawloms Posted July 18, 2018 Author Posted July 18, 2018 The only DFE Guidance I can find says to do that if they have been accepted in to 6th Form. We don't have one. Knowing my office lady, that won't be good enough for her. Can you point me to the one you mean please?
