I also constantly bang on about the content of their emails and urge them not to put any personal differences or personal opinions in writing unless they would be prepared to stand up in a court of law and defend them.

 

Same as with the social media advice we give students - don't post it about someone if you wouldn't say it their face; don't post it about yourself if you wouldn't wear it on a t-shirt.
