SHimmer45 Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Hi all, i will be shortly moving to another role where they use Cisco switching, ive down most of my networking experience on HP equipment so was looking at either purchasing a cisco switch to get a feel for how the product looks and feels, (firmware upgrades the layout of the web interface and the CLI) suggestions on what to go for. Do they provide a free version of packet tracer as an alternative to purchasing a switch - some of the stuff i have found for packet tracer looks rather iffy as they are not on a cisco site.
ITGuyNW Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 I think if you sign up for their course (free) then you can use it https://www.netacad.com/courses/packet-tracer
Edutech98 Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Or as an alternative to above you can download GNS3 for free and import Cisco IoS. You have to "acquire" the IoS though
SHimmer45 Posted July 9, 2018 Author Posted July 9, 2018 thanks for the feedback, aquiring IoS might be a bit of issue
