USB to VGA Adapter through a USB 3 HUB

Hello,

 

I am looking at purchasing some tablet PC's. I need them to be able to connect to a VGA monitor so I was going to buy a USB 3.0 to VGA adapter. I also want to provide the users with more USB ports so was going to get a USB 3 hub. Does anyone know if I can plug the VGA adapter into the hub and hub into the tablet?

So long as the hub can provide enough power for all devices there shouldn't be any issues.

Which tablets are you looking at? Can they be used with a USB-C docking station of some kind?

We haven't chosen the device yet, but I was hoping to have a single cable (other than charger) to plug into the device to provide keyboard, mouse and video.

 

Basically a docking station, but without the additional cost. (Need to get 80 of these)

Looking at the post again what you need is a port replicator. I was looking into these for classrooms, eliminating all AV cables from the user.

also factor in two power supplies if your plugs and sockets are not accessible easily as users won't want to dive under desks repeatedly to plug stuff in or out, we found that out where I work, because we use suspended baskets for connections under the desks. We generally buy them for our laptop users here because of that issue.

your issue will be power draw, if the tablet cannot provide enough power then you will be out of luck, this is what i have used in the past on computers

is they charge using micro usb try using a micro usb to vga/hdmi as it may be a better option.
