Have you edited or removed apps from the .wim file before you ran sysprep? https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/2769827/sysprep-fails-after-you-remove-or-update-windows-store-apps-that-inclu You might have to remove a few apps, when I had this on Windows 10 the other week after I ran decrapifier, it choked on 4 different apps before sysprep would run Andrew

Just tired it with apps removed and still fails.
newpersn Posted June 17, 2018 Author Posted June 17, 2018 just to update. Ive flatten the machines and just installed Windows 8.1 and some updates and it sysprep'ed fine. I wonder if its something that i installed. I'll post the software list tomorrow when i'm back on site.
3s-gtech Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 8.1 has something like 5 years left of extended support - more than any current version of 10 It ain't that bad. It does seem like the OP has modified something in the image that sysprep doesn't like - 10 does the same thing with some UWP apps.
sted Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 i THINK ive had that before its the syeprep file your using there is something in there thats no longer supported iirc its usually an ie setting. try generating a new sysprep file with absolute minimal settings
