Script needed to set proxy.pac internet settings

Hi

 

Sorry, not a coder but need a quick fix script (either ps1 or vbs) for a non domain Windows 10 PC that can set the proxy.pac location for a PC and disable automated settings.

 

Long story but need a few icons on the desktop to set different pac files for a knuckle dragging end user who switches sites and insists on using their own laptop....

 

Would love you forever if someone could write me something that would do the job?

Do you know the IP ranges for the different sites? They shouldn't need to even click a "I'm at Hogwarts today" icon.

 

Don't you also need to remap drives/printers though?

Some of them are the same IP range unfortunately so can't do anything clever with a single proxy.pac for multiple ranges

 

I've found ps1 scripts to set proxy but nothing that will set a proxy.pac

Any other distinguishing differences? howarts.co.uk, brakebills.com, greyfriars.co.uk?

 

Also, does it have to set the PAC location, or can it just alter the proxy settings?

 

I'm thinking a pac hosted at one school should be cached...

It's OK, I've sorted it using dirty reg hacks and bat2exe to make it look (almost) neat.

 

No longer my problem, they grunted something and then shuffled off to throw poo at whoever they encounter next
